The global state of nature is alarming, and many ecosystems continue to degrade despite existing conservation measures. The EU has responded with the Nature Restoration Law, which sets binding restoration targets for all Member States. In this context, the German Advisory Council on the Environment (SRU), together with other German advisory councils, has issued a joint statement outlining how nature restoration in Germany should be designed and implemented to meet these new requirements.
